What Could've Been at Icarus '25

This years Icarus Cup in Philadelphia was yet again one of the highlight events of the Summer for the club, and the cards could not have been dealt more perfectly for a storybook ending until the last thirty seconds of Golden Goal in the Division 2 Final.

With 32 like-minded competitive squads competing in the Europa Cup Bracket, The Goods took control of the Group Stages with two wins and a draw; A commanding 6-1 win against Head Cow FC, a tight 3-3 draw against the Sunday Leaguers, and a 9-6 victory which put us top of the table against East Falls Animals. The vibes were high as well as the standard of play. The afternoon brought about an exciting Quarterfinal against Gritty FC after a fews hours of team bonding around vendor village. The boys came out on top 4-2 with spirits high and an Icarus Champions vase in sight.

The late evening Semifinal matchup between the Sunday Leaguers, whom we couldn't grab a result from earlier on in the morning, had to be the highlight match of our day. Both teams, severely battered by excessive heat, lacking hydration and picking up injuries like we were asking for them, went at it back and forth, goal for goal until the dying seconds when FeelsGood grabs a game winner off of Christian McCartney's late corner kick banger and late heroics. The Goods win 4-2 and head up the hill for a final battle.
