2026 RED BULL NEW YORK MEDIA DAY

The New Look Red Bulls officially kicked off their 2026 campaign with Media Day at SI Stadium in Harrison, NJ. The Red Bulls open up their stadium bringing together media members, players, coaches, and club staff for a full day of introductions, one-one interviews, content creation and team storytelling. We got to see the introductory press conference with new Designated Player Jorge Ruvalcaba.  An exciting young talent coming from Liga MX side Pumas UNAM

This day set the mark for the new season, as returning leaders (Forsberg and Choupo) and fresh faces (Justin Che and Cade Cowell) stepped in front of cameras to capture opening statements, expectations, promotional materials, and broadcast features that will be used across MLS platforms and club media throughout the year. The atmosphere at the ground reflected a group eager to build momentum, with a strong focus on identity, energy, intense play and the high-pressing style that has long defined the Red Bulls’ approach.

Red Bull New York also showcased the latest “ROOTED” kit which blends tradition with a bold, modern edge. Moving away from the usual white-dominant home look, the new primary kit uses a striking black base energized by red lightning-like accents that give it an aggressive, electric feel. The Red Bull slightly altered crest remains front and center, while subtle texture details and updated paneling modernize the silhouette for improved fit and on-field performance.

Fan reaction has been mixed but passionate — some applaud the use of MetroStars colors (Red and Black) while purists miss the traditional white. Either way, the new release is a statement piece that’s bound to stand out on the pitch and in the stands.

“As a young coach to have that opportunity, to work for him (Bob Bradley), be in a staff with him everyday, that set me up in a really really good way for the beginning of my coaching career”

The attending media was introduced to new head coach Michael Bradley - Former NY/NJ MetroStars player and the newest DP signing in Jorge Ruvalcaba. Micheal Bradley’s opening press conference reinforced a clear message: the expectation is to compete at the top of the Eastern Conference while playing their style of possession based football. With the 2026 opening day fast approaching the day marked a symbolic transition—from preparation to performance—as the Red Bulls turned their full focus toward there opening match of the 2026 MLS season on the road vs Orlando City.

Beyond the photos and production work, Media Day served as a key opportunity for players and coaches to share their mindset heading into the season. Veterans like Emil Forsberg emphasized continuity, accountability, and the importance of raising the club’s competitive standard after a disappointing 2025 season. Choupo mentions the importance of playing the Red Bull way on the road considering last years poor string of results outside New Jersey. The younger players (Julian Hall) spoke about embracing opportunity and contributing to a fast, aggressive system and making that next step in his professional career.
